Memory Verse: review day
Notes: (v.2) John asked if Christ was the one who was to come when he was in prison
(v.4-6) Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5the blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. 6 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me"
-(v.11) Jesus talks about John the baptist: "there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he"
-(v.12) the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing
-(v.16) Jesus compares the generation to "children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others: We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn"
What does this mean?
-(v.20) Jesus began denouncing cities that he went to and performed miracles in because of their unrepentance, saying that "it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgement than for you"
-(v.28-30) Jesus gives rest to the weary; seek His yoke and learn from Him
