PASSAGE: Encouragement to Be Faithful
MEMORY VERSE: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in life, in faith, and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
NOTES: (v.6) "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."
(v.8) "So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in the suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel."
(v.14) "Guard the deposit that was entrusted to you--guard it with the help of the Holy SPirit who lives in us."
ACT OF LOVE: Today, my mom and I got into a pretty big fight over something relatively trivial. Usually I have a pretty good relationship with my mom, but today we both lost our tempers, and the argument ended up much worse than the initial problem. Though I was initially pretty frustrated, I waited until I cooled down a bit and talked to her at night. We both apologized and shared about our perspectives, which helped us understand each other better. I'm thankful for my mommy<3
