1 John 3, 365 DAYS OF LOVE #204: 1040, BABYSITTING, PARENTS

PASSAGE: (I seem to have misplaced my Bible..so I'm using one of the little orange ones that they hand out--the ones that only have the New Testament and Psalms & Proverbs, so there are no subheadings to each passage).

MEMORY VERSE:  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

NOTES: (v.2) "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, and we shall see Him as He is."
(v.7) "Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices is righteous, just as He is righteous."
(v.10) "In this the children of God and the chilren of the devil are manifest: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another."
(v.13) "Do not marvel, my brothers, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death."
(v.15) "Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him."
(v.16) "By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren...My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth."
(v.22) "And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight."

ACT OF LOVE: Today, I began my day of love by babysitting two kids that came over with a bunch of parents. I took them outside to this grassy area next to my house to play with my dog. Then, we played "basketball" with a tennis ball (cause I didn't have a basketball) in my yard. THENN they wanted to color, so I whipped out my markers/color pencils/crayons/paper. One of the girls, Ava, started using my silver metallic sharpie. The first time she used it, she was like "OOOH MY GOSH I LOVEE GOLD!!" (she's only 3...so cute hahaa). Seeing that she loved it so much, I gave it to her! In return, she drew me a beautiful picture with her new "gold" marker...I felt so blessed! Love is contagious :)
The latter part of my day was spent helping out with the 1040 Movie showing at church. Got there at around 5 to help prepare (although they didn't have much for me to do). When it came time to show the movie, I helped usher people in and hand out 1040 response cards.
And finally, I served my mom by sacrificing staying later with my friends and accompanying her home (she was still unsure about driving home at night since we just moved, and she didn't know the area that well).

Also, 1040 WAS AMAZING. Seriously, if there is a showing near you, GO WATCH IT. OR buy the DVD. Or borrow mine! I am soo thankful that I got to come to the showing. Now I'm pumped. LETS PRAY FOR NATIONS.
