James 5, 365 DAYS OF LOVE #192, Daniel Fast (9)

PASSAGE:Warning to Rich Oppressors, Patience in Sufference, the Prayer of Faith

MEMORY VERSE: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

NOTES: (v.7) "Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near. Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!"
(v.12) "Above all, my brothers, do not swear--not by heaven or by earth or by anthing else. let your "yes" be yes, and your "no," no, or you will be condemned."
(v.15) "Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for eaach other so that you may be healed. They prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

ACT OF LOVE: Today was more of a Daniel-Fast fail than before....at dinner, my dad coaxed me into eating some pork ribs...which, in all honesty, wasn't that hard because I really wanted to eat it. So maybe my fasting-skills could use some work..however! I will be praying for revival, even if I'm not following the strictest fasting diet. I think it's more important to have the focus on the fast be on the "praying for revival" part instead of physical dieting reasons..but that's just me.
Anyways, today's act of love requires a bit of a backstory. Since my mom's been in China for a few weeks, it's up to my dad to cook and clean for the house...and to be blunt, my dad is messy and done of the messiest and dirtiest people I know. heh. Once my mom leaves even for  a day or two, the entire house becomes a pigsty, literally. Especially the kitchen. My dad is an intelligent man and a successful business owner, but he can't wash dishes for the life in him. Oftentimes I'll have to rewash the dishes he already 'washed' because they're too dirty to actually use for eating. SO today, I spent a good hour doing a thorough cleaning of the kitchen, which is the messiest. I washed the dishes and pots (that were encrusted with pork meat and crusty oil chunks), cleaned out the sink, reorganized the dishwasher, cleaned the counter, and washed the washcloth (it got so messy that the washcloth need washing HAHA). When my dad came back and saw that everything had been cleaned, he was super surprised and happy!
