PASSAGE: The Angel and the Little Scroll
MEMORY VERSE: "Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened." 1 Peter 3:13
NOTES: (v.1) "Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars."
(v.6) "And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay! But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets."
(v.9) "So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, "Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but your mouth it will be as sweet as honey"....Then I was told, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, languages and kings."
ACT OF LOVE: One of the things that God has been working on in me is my usage of time. I realized that the amount of time you devote to something determines how much of a priority it is in your life. Considering how my day is divided up, can I really say that God is my top priority? Most days I tend to spend night times with Jesus, while the rest of the day I'm preoccupied with school, homework, clubs, busywork. It's something that God is still changing within me--so for my act of love today, I spent just a little more time with God. After I finished my homework, I had the option of going on facebook/youtube and wasting time, or purposefully finishing early to be with Jesus. Realizing that, I took maybe an hour and a half outside of my QT to listen to sermons (on youtube) and meditate my heart on God. It was really refreshing just being reminded of some basic truths of the gospel. To be honest, I think it's going to be a slow process teaching me to be a good steward of my time, but I know God is more powerful than my sin!
