Psalm 13, 365 DAYS OF LOVE #252

MEMORY VERSE: "Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength" Nehemiah 8:10

NOTES:  How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever?
   How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
   and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
   How long will my enemy triumph over me?
 3 Look on me and answer, LORD my God.
   Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
4 and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
   and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
 5 But I trust in your unfailing love;
   my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the LORD’s praise,
   for he has been good to me
I feel like the last two verses of this chapter is really fitting to saying goodbye to 2010 and kicking off 2011. Looking back at 2010, I can say without a doubt that God can and will use any experience for our blessings, even the negative ones. This past year was far from perfect, yet I do believe that it indeed was another year of tremendous growth as a student, a woman, friend, and ultimately as a daughter of God. I've learned to LOVE: to love the Word, to love Jesus, to love people, and to love myself. And though I've grown a lot closer in my faith, there is still so much for me to learn and to grow in. That is why I begin 2011 with Psalm 13:5-6:  But I trust in your unfailing love;
   my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the LORD’s praise,
   for he has been good to me
This upcoming year is one of many uncertainties: where I will end up in college, how my senior year will turn out, and what my first college semester will be like. To be honest, I am a little intimidated and a lot of excited, but ultimately I choose to trust in God's unfailing love through it all.
ACT OF LOVE: Hosted a New Years Eve party at my house! We had a potluck, played Apples to Apples, watched TV, played mafia, had some intense Sardines, tried to pull a prank on a friend, and counted down to the New Year :) Also, we combined with the older college group afterwards for a bit. Before the party, I made 50+ peanut butter cup cookies for the people who were coming!
