Psalm 28, 365 DAYS OF LOVE #273

MEMORY VERSE: "Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. but as for me, my feet had nearly slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by illnesses. Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence. From their callous hearts comes iniquity; the evil conceits of their minds know no limits." Psalm 73:1-7

NOTES: ¹ To you, LORD, I call; 

   you are my Rock,
   do not turn a deaf ear to me.
For if you remain silent,
   I will be like those who go down to the pit.
² Hear my cry for mercy
   as I call to you for help,
as I lift up my hands
   toward your Most Holy Place.

 ³ Do not drag me away with the wicked,
   with those who do evil,
who speak cordially with their neighbors
   but harbor malice in their hearts.
⁴ Repay them for their deeds
   and for their evil work;
repay them for what their hands have done
   and bring back on them what they deserve.

 ⁵ Because they have no regard for the deeds of the LORD
   and what his hands have done,
he will tear them down
   and never build them up again.

 ⁶ Praise be to the LORD,
   for he has heard my cry for mercy.
⁷ The LORD is my strength and my shield;
   my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
   and with my song I praise him.

 ⁸ The LORD is the strength of his people,
   a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
⁹ Save your people and bless your inheritance;
   be their shepherd and carry them forever.

It's interesting to me that the very first verse talks about how the Lord is our Rock, because the speaker at our spiritual formation conference today (Alice Matthews) touched upon characteristics of God and how He is like our rock
Also, upon reading v.3-4, at first it seemed sort of harsh, but I realize how destructive a hateful spirit can be, even if it is not obvious to others. I've been guilty of this more times than I would like to admit, and it's humbling and eye-opening to see how significant it is to be genuine to others.

ACT OF LOVE: I noticed online that my teacher had incorrectly given me more points on something than I should have gotten, so I told him the truth about my grade, and he changed it.
Also, I offered sour gummy worms to people after rehearsal because everyone was super hungry. I didn't have alot, but I got to feed everyone who wanted one!
