Memory Verse: "Jesus said, 'I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." -John 6:35
Notes: (v.1-15) Jesus met a man who had been invalid for 38 years at a pool where a lot of disabled people used to lie. He asked the man if he wanted to get well, and Jesus healed him when he told the man to pick up his mat. Since it was the Sabbath, the Jews told the man that it is forbidden to carry his mat on the Sabbath, but the man told them that the one who had healed him said to pick up the mat and walk. He later saw Jesus again, and Jesus told him to stop sinning. The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who healed him.
-(v.16-30) "For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it."
"Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."
-(v.31-47) John was a testimony to the truth; he was a lamp that burned and gave light. but Jesus' testimony that is weightier than his is the very work that the Father has given him.
Jesus said: "I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?"
ACT OF LOVE: Cleanliness is next to godliness :)
My mom was gone for most of the afternoon because she was speaking at an out-of-town church, so I had the house to myself for the evening. I decided that I would show love by doing a spontaneous house-cleaning! I cleaned the kitchen, bathrooms, and vacuumed all three floors. The hardest part was cleaning the sink; I had never realized how DIRTY it was! The sink alone took me a good 40-45 minutes. But it was well worth it :)
