Passage: The Parable of the Lost Sheep, The Parable of the Lost Coin, The Parable of the Lost Son
Memory Verse: review day
Notes: (v.1-7) The Pharisees condemned Jesus for being with tax collectors and "sinners," but Jesus told them the parable of the one lost sheep, for which the owner left the ninety-nine others to find it. When he did, he joyfully takes it home and celebrates with his friends and neighbors. In the same way heaven will rejoice over one sinner who repents over ninety nine righteous people who need not to repent.
-(v.8-10) Similarly, if a woman loses one out of ten silver coins, does she not search the house until she finds it? When she does, she rejoices--just as heaven will over one sinner who repents
-(v.11-32) Jesus tells the parable of the lost son:
A man had two sons: the younger one asked his father for his share of the estate and set off for a distant country. He squandered his wealth and after he had spent everything, a sever famine in the land left him in need. He could not even get the pods that pigs were eating. He realized that he should have stayed with his father and set off for home. When he was still in the distance, the man saw his lost son and was filled with compassion; he ran to his son and brought him a robe and prepared a feast for him. He rejoiced, for his son "was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found." The older son, however, came back from the field and saw the celebration, and became angry that he was never recognized for his years of obedience and labor. But the father said, "My son, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found."
ACT OF LOVE: Inspired by my remaking the Barnabas box, I decided to continue and redo the OSCAR box, too! Oscar/Mauricio is the fellowship's sponsor child from Ecuador, and the box collects all the donations from the fellowship! I spent the two hours before my SAT class to redecorate, and even slipped a few bucks in myself. Yay Oscar. Go feed him.

My friend Cynthia Kono is going on a mission trip to Kyoto, Japan this summer, and needs support! Yesterday, she came and briefly shared about it in hsf, and after I felt compelled to encourage and support her. So, today begins my commitment to pray for her, and to support with whatever financial resources I have (which isn't alot, but still). You should do it too! :)

You are such a sweet heart! I love what you're doing with the "365 days of love" and bloggin about it :)
