Galations 3, 265 DAYS OF LOVE #132: BAMBI

PASSAGE: Faith or Observance of the Law, The Law and the Promise

MEMORY VERSE: "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which was being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on a new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness" Ephesians 4:22-24

NOTES: (v.3) "Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?"
(v.5) "Does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you because you observe the law, or because you believe what you heard?"
(v.6) "Consider Abraham: "He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness"
(v.9) "So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith."
(v.11) "Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because "The righteous will live by faith"
(v.14) "He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit."
(v.17) "The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise."
(v.19) "What, then, was the purpose of the law? It was added becasue of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was put into effect through angels by a mediator. A mediator, however, does not represent just one party; but God is one."
(v.21) "Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not!...But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe."
(v.24) "So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law."

ACT OF LOVE: I recently read a post by Greg Mah, which was centered around the verse Proverbs 12:10 "A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel." Inspired by this and yesterday's dog poo act of love, I decided to show love to Bambi today by caring/playing/watching him in the morning when my mom went out, taking care of all his bathroom necessities, and treating him with a third of a delicious, juicy peach. Since he's been around for so long, I rarely ever sit down and play with him anymore, so my act of love was showing affection for him and appreciation to my parents for adopting him by tending to him.
